Needless to say, Sound Forge has stood the test of time and is showing no sign of relenting the #1 spot as the premiere audio editing + conversion software for PC anytime soon.
When Sony purchased Sonic Foundry (the creators of Sound Forge) in late 2003, we were very excited for the possibilities. Perhaphs this instance of vocal removal would also work should I spent on this song mixing a day or so.Aah, the familiar Sony logo … nothing reminds us more of products, and more recently software, that we’ve enjoyed for decades over than this familiar branding. However, when I attempted to remove vocal of Akon from his song "Don't blame it on me" (another song I have no MIDI file for, while have my original russian lyrics on it) I was not succesful at first look. Also note that this is my private nonprofit educational (draft) recording, a tribute to WWII veterans, so, its is in accord with fair use or fair dealing provision(s) of the copyright law(s): Here is this song at YouTube, note that all instruments are of original ELP track. Trust me, I done it many times I use this method to make KAROKE CD's without using any EQ effects. It does not work pefectly for all music depending on the recording, but most, I can 99.99 remove the vocal from a CD that you can go out and buy anywhere. My lead vocal was prominient to ensure understandability of the lyrics. It is possible and I have done it many times. I like the way I managed it, by adding echo/reverb to my backing vocals, so, it burried ELP vocal echo in the mix. It was done by Sony (more precize iZotope) vocal eraser quite good, however, the vocal echo spread wide and still remained in the track. I could not find its' MIDI file to record my song (on the 65th WWII Victory Day over german fascism), so, I attempted to delete Emerson vocal from the original track.

There are a number of vocal removers, both software (ex, plugin of a Sony Sound Forge Studio, you can download it from Sony web site, install it and run this plugin for a limited time, so, get ready with the tracks that you want to try for vocal removal) and hardware (such as Behringer Karaoke machine, that I did not tested, however).Īs for the Sony vocal removal, my latest finished example is the song Love Blind by Emerson Lake and Powell. The principal of vocal removal, as far as I read about it, is vocal sitting in the center of the mix.
